Like so many, my life as I knew it was ruined when I found out that a family member had Cancer. It was 7 years ago when I found out my Dad had Lung Cancer. He had the sort of Cancer that was incurable. He was told he did not have long to live. He battled this horrible illness with all his strength and might to ensure he could be at my wedding. He underwent unpleasant treatment to try and contain this disease, knowing he wouldn't survive it. He showed me such strength, pride and dignity was such a horrible time. I stood so proudly with him on my wedding day. A happy memory I hold to this day. But just 12 days later, he couldn't fight it any more. He had used all his strength. We had to say to goodbye. In the 6 years that have passed, research into Cancer treatments have continued and finally there is some progress into curing certain types of Lung Cancer. It is so important that we continue to find medical advances to help cure all types of Cancer. Up until 6 months ago I probably hadn't run more than a mile in the last 20years. I am now taking on a huge personal challenge in memory of my Dad and I am planning on running 13.1 miles in the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Please support me by making a donation of any size.
