My Story
On Sunday 20th May, Sarah and I have signed up to take part in Cancer Research's Pretty Muddy 10k event to give back to an organisation that is close to our hearts. In 2016, both sides of our family faced one of the most challenging times of our lives. After fighting quite a battle, we lost our beautiful Grandma Judy to cancer, and were then tragically given the news that our other Grandma Pam had been diagnosed with uterus cancer only a few months later. However, she overcame the illness and we are so grateful every day that she received treatment that saved her life, and so thankful that our hilarious, gorgeous Granny Pam is still here. (Just want to mention that my granny Pam is so close to my heart and I don't know what I would've done without her. Love you so so much Granny!! We went through an absolute rollercoaster of emotions and tears and you came out shining at the end! You are the biggest inspiration in the way that you possess this charm to make everybody that meets you love you to bits, you literally don't let anything dampen your spirit, you always get a laugh out of anything, and you're the trendiest 80 year old I've ever seen !!!!) We're running this 10k in honour of our inspirational Grandma and Granny, but also in grace of our entire family, including Grandpa Colin who has showed incomparable strength for Judy throughout the whole experience, but also our mum (big up Lelly!!!!), dad (big up Ricky!!!) siblings, aunties and everybody else that's helped us in between. Love you all!!!
