In memory of

Nan Maud, Nan Julie, Uncle Charlie, Virginia & Cathy

My Story

In October 2015 we lost my beautiful Nan Maud to cancer. She was an amazing lady, who was never every poorly and was full of life.A brave strong Scottish woman! A Mum, Wife, sister, Nan, great Nan. She was the kind of Nan that would make you laugh, always listen and make a great steak pie. She was the Queen in our Family. Her death was so very unexpected and quick. luckily I had a chance to say goodbye and lots of my Family were with her by her side when she passed. I had always been one of the lucky ones never to have lost anyone close to me, but this was heartbreaking. Grief actually hurt, the pain of loosing someone so close to you and seeing your family grieving and hurting is simply awful. I know Nan wouldn't want us to be sad and she would want us to remember the good times and funny memories, like the time my nail lamp exploded while doing her nails! or laughing so much at Britain's got talent we nearly choked! or the amount of solar lights she had in the garden it looked like a flight path! or how she would stand at the door and wave goodbye until her arm hurt and you had left the end of her road. I am so lucky to have some amazing memories to last a lifetime. Sadly in February 2017 My other Nan Julie passed away after a longer battle with cancer. Again she was the queen of our family on my dads side. A brave strong Irish Woman! A Mum, Wife, sister, Nan, great Nan. She was the kind of Nan to give you sweeties and sneak money into your pocket as you left the door, the kind of Nan you never left the house without her standing at the door waving saying " Nanny loves you darling" She too was amazing. Neither of our family's will ever be the same. Christmas, birthdays, family gatherings will always have something missing. what makes me sad is neither of my Nans will ever get to see me have my babies, and knit them outfits as they did for me when I was little. This will also be in memory of my Uncle Charlie xxxx the saddest thing about whoever is reading this now is that everyone knows someone affected by cancer, weather they have lost someone, know someone who is fighting it. it affects everyone. Two of my amazing strong best friends Wayne & Claire have both lost their beautiful Mum's to cancer so this will also be in loving memory of Virginia and Cathy. Thank you for reading. please dig deep and sponsor as much as you can.
