My Story

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. In February 2017 just four months after my son was born i was diagnosed with Triple negative Breast cancer. I had a right mastectomy & under went 6 months of chemotherapy....i beat it :-) it was time to get back on track & make plans with my little family. Then came the next big blow, a non routine Ct scan showed a mass in my cervix & 4 months after beating Breast cancer i was told i had stage 2b cervical cancer. Breast & Cervical cancer are not linked so it was a separate cancer, rare but not unknown to happen. I completed 5 weeks of Chemoradiation treatment at the Rosemere centre at Preston hospital, unfortunately 2 days later i was admitted to the Royal Blackburn hospital with an infection & dangerously low bloods so i was not allowed home for 10 days which was tough being away from Steven & my babies. Once i recovered i went to the Christie at Manchester to receive two Brachytherapy treatments. The treatments were so invasive & my body was exhausted but a couple of weeks after all treatments i managed to complete the 5k Race for life at Blackburn with one of my neices and close friends for support, i even got on stage to share my story with others. This year i am so excited & ready to do it again with my fiance Steven & my beautiful babies Emily and Jack by my side each step of the way 💕 We have all been affected by cancer, we all know someone who has had it. My children were 2 years old & 4 months old when i was first diagnosed, it was ment to be our year as a complete family....it really does not discriminate. Unfortunately my first cancer is a reoccurring one but i have had preventative surgery to reduce my risk of it returning. I have beaten cancer twice & i am thankful for every single day, life is a blessing 💕 Thank you for taking the time to read my story & please support me in raising money for such a wonderful cause xx
