This year, I gave myself a fitness goal: To be able to lose weight & feel good about myself come my summer holiday. As most people know, I've always struggled with my weight, for a long time, I was always known for being "too skinny". At 16 years old, I was diagnosed with Borderline Anorexia. After a struggle to put on weight, I finally managed it and now, according to the BMI chart, I'm classed as being "overweight". It's my goal, to finally be happy within myself and to love my own body, so that's why this year, I've set myself goals and what's better than to achieve my goals by also doing good for others?! As a child, I watched my Uncle lose his battle to Cancer, after already overcoming Cancer years earlier. I'm doing the Race for Life, because I never understood what Cancer was until I hugged my Uncle for the final time and that's a memory that will stay with me forever. I'm doing the Race for Life because nobody should ever have to go through such a horrible illness, or watch their loved ones suffer. I'm doing the Race for Life, because I hope one day, Cancer can be cured and people can live longer, happier lives. Remember, if it doesn't feel or look right, have it checked out! You can never be too careful!
