My Story

I always promised myself that I would never send out global fundraising emails and social media but here I am. Life events often change your outlook and opinion on things and this is one of those times. I apologise in advance! We all know of someone who has been affected by Cancer but until you are directly affected by the awful disease and have watched a love one suffer you don't really fully appreciate the medical professionals and the true wonder of the work that Cancer Research UK do. To give something back I will be attempting to "run" one of Cancer Research's Race for Life 5K Pretty Muddy courses. I don't have a target but I am asking anyone who can spare even a £1 to donate to this wonderful charity. My giving back isn't ending there, whenever I can (every four months) I am donating blood. I have seen first hand that every Leukaemia patient often goes through several bags of blood a day, just to ensure they wake up. If you aren't already a blood donor, please consider registering as you never know just when someone may need it Register as a blood donor = https://my.blood.co.uk/preregister And lastly, another gift that is often overlooked. Every Leukaemia patient will probably be in need of a Stem Cell transplant after Chemotherapy. Donating Stem Cells is no longer as scary as people think, its just the same as giving blood. You can join the Stem Cell register and you may not ever be called up unless someone that is a match is in need of a donation. There are two places that you can register Anthony Nolan - Stem Cell donors aged 16-30 = https://www.anthonynolan.org/8-ways-you-could-save-life/donate-your-stem-cells or DKMS - Stem Cell donors aged 31-55 = https://www.dkms.org.uk/en/register-now Thank you for for taking the time to read this. Even if you can't make a financial donation, you can still make a difference.
