Cancer is happening now. Last year, my very good friend, who has always been more like family to us...was diagnosed with terminal cancer. This is why I'm doing race 4 life again, to raise money to save lives. It was a massive shock and very unexpected as he was suffering from back ache. Well It turns out the back ache was being caused by a big fat pig of a prostatic Tumour pressing on his spine and it was far too far gone to do anything about, apart from stall it for as long as possible. So stall it they are doing, with injections every 3 months. injections that took research to reach our shelves. Research that was funded by Cancer Research. Drugs that are giving our friend more time with his beloved wife, family and friends. Drugs that are making our friend feel better when he has them, and drugs that he can feel are wearing off when he is nearing his next dose. Drugs that cost a lot of money, that we are fortunate enough to be able to get for free on our wonderful NHS. Cancer Research is an amazing cause and I will raise money every year that I possibly can, because one day, like now, it could be one of my friends or family, and cancer research doesn't happen by itself.
