My Story
I am doing this run for two amazingly special people that are very close to my heart. My father is one person I am running it for, he was diagnosed with Kidney cancer which had a huge impact on him and us as a family. Luckily because of an early diagnosis, he received all the help he could get from the brilliant staff in the hospital and the cancerous kidney got removed. He would have really struggled in general if he didn't have the support from friends, family and the hospital staff. I would like half of the money raised to go towards tackling kidney cancer as only half the population who get diagnosed with kidney cancer survive which is heartbreaking for the families who lose their loved ones. The other person who I dearly adored who is sadly not with us anymore was my lovely friend Sarah Henderson. She sadly got Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
