Rachel & Sarah’s Race for Life

After my mum losing her grandad when I was just a few months old to cancer, as well as, her nan having skin cancer and of course hearing of many other stories from those close to us having family/friends who have beat cancer, are battling cancer or have sadly lost their lives to this horrible disease; We decided to complete in the Race For Life course over the past 3 years in a row now. This year we signed up to complete it together again. But this year meant more to me than the previous years we had participated in. Back in November, my school lost one of our bubbliest, most loving teachers to cancer after her putting up such a strong fight. As well as this, a couple of weeks later, as many of you know, my grandad was diagnosed with cancer. After many chemo sessions, we’re now awaiting some results for him and potentially an operation. With all this madness going on in the world today, it’s uncertain if this years Race For Life will still be taking place. However, together mum and I have decided we will still complete the same distance (5k) by doing a walk around our area.
