Julie Hale
My Story
I am doing Race for Life in May in memory of a very very special person. Growing up, Julie was like a second mother to me, my mums best friend of 45 years, she treated me like her own daughter. She went through a very difficult time battling a rare cancer that has hardly any information about it. She sadly passed away in June 2019 and all our hearts broke. I’m hoping to raise some money towards the charity that hopefully someday will find a cure for this horrible disease so no one else has to go through the pain Julie and all of us did.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
