My Story
'1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.' I never thought it would include me, but, at the age of 35, just before Christmas 2017, I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, 3 months after my mum died from cancer. Cancer doesn't care how old you are. It doesn't care how beautiful you are. It doesn't care who you love or what you do or want to do. It is indiscriminate, cruel and powerful. It destroys life, families and futures. But... We can fight back. I am still alive (yay!) because of research that has already happened and is still happening. Because of those who have helped to raise money in the past, my little boy still has a mummy. My husband has his wife. My dad still has a daughter. As I've just had another operation, I will only be walking this 5k, (that's a challenge enough for now!), but if you could donate anything at all, we can help beat cancer sooner, so more people like me can live. Thank you so much. Rachel x Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
