I'm taking on a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money to beat cancer sooner! XXX
My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why we're taking part in a Muddy 5k Race for Life at Southampton Common to raise money and save lives. You never think it'll be you who's affected by cancer so close to home, well at least I didn't until this year. Since my beautiful Mum has been diagnosed with breast cancer, I have realised the true importance of cancer research and the amazing impact it has on peoples lives; now including my familys. Despite the long and hard road to recovery, Mum will eventually get better and it is thanks to the ground breaking research charities that this is possible. Although unfortunately, this is not the case for all cancers with 1 in 4 patients with pancreatic cancer dying within a month of diagnosis. This is critical in demonstrating how vital and necessary more research is. I couldn't imagine life without my mum and luckily won't have to, but this is still the sad reality for many cancer patients/families. Every single penny donated means so much and will help to stop this happening to at least one less person. Without the amount of money donated to this cause, cancer would never be as treatable as it is today with survival rates of over 98% for breast and thyroid cancer. Now all we need is to get every survival rate for every cancer to 100% and nothing less. Together we will beat cancer!
