In memory of
Dad
Where do I start 2018 was a pretty challenging year for me personally, on the 6th January my dad was given the dreadful news that his cancer was back since fighting it in 2014 however this time it was terminal. He was given only four weeks left to live, for those who knew my old man can agree with me when I say he was such a character. He had a laugh you just couldn’t forget and didn’t take life seriously at all. Each and everyone that knew him had there own personal memories. Dad sadly grew his wings on the 2nd February and life hasn’t been the same since. It changed me in ways I never knew was possible! It’s time now to change my life get in shape and prove to everybody that I can do this. It may only be 5K however I’ve never even been out for a brisk walk or jog (god help me) 5k May not seem like a lot to most but for someone with sever asthma and who is as unfit as me it will be a big achievement. I have a long way to go but thank you to my lovely friend for nominating me to do this I am more determine then ever to beat this goal and I’m pretty excited to get into the swing of things. I can’t forget my dear school friend Karla she was just beautiful, we were friends from primary school who lost contact, naturally that happens as we went to different secondary schools. However one very mad holiday to magaluf in 2007 brought us back together, same hotel same dates and we really did make some memories. Karla lost her battle on 10th July 2009 at just 21. As a family who has lost a dad and also a school friend to this awful disease I can only hope that every little raised will help find a cure and give other families longer with there loved ones! Who knows it may encourage me to do more runs and do what I believe is the impossible and actually finish. Forever in my heart and everyone else’s! Love and always thinking of you both - Dad & Karla Wish me luck Much love Rachel Xx
