My Story
I originally planned to run Race for Life in memory of my Granny Vie who lost her battle with cancer in 2001. She was one in a million and taken far too soon. My closest friend Jane was also affected but managed to fight it and she is an inspiration to all those who have fought against cancer. Just this month my auntie Sheena lost her sudden fight with a brain tumour which was unexpected and heartbreaking. We found out on the Friday and heaven got another angel on the Sunday. It has broken the hearts of many and unfortunately nothing could be done to save the life of one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure of calling family. She was an amazing mum, partner, sister, daughter, auntie and friend and life won't quite be the same now for so many people. So I am running this 10K for her as she was an avid runner and a brilliant one at that. I am hoping she will keep me going as this is not something I will do easily. I am hoping to raise money and also awareness so that more can be done to help those like Auntie Sheen. Sadly it couldn’t save her but hopefully it can make a difference to someone and then it will definitely be worth it. So please dig deep and donate to such a worthy cause. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
