I’m raising as much as I can to beat cancer

In memory of

Gina Peach

Thank you for visiting my fund raising page. For over 15 years I have passionately been raising money for Cancer Research UK. This originated following the death of my dear cousin aged just 32 and I wanted to do something to make a difference.

I like to push myself to my limits to raise money, find challenges that are just that, a real challenge. From sky dives, climbing Mount Kilimangaro, trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, which is extra tough when you suffer with vertigo, running the New York marathon and cycling from London to Paris to name but a few. Together we have raised a whopping £122,000.

Last September, just days before I was about to fly to Peru to trek Machu Picchu in memory of my dear friend Sam, one of my longest and dearest friends Gina passed away after just a 7 week battle with cancer. Words cannot describe the feeling and within just 18 months I had said goodbye to three amazing women all taken way too early by cancer.

Gina's eldest son Jake told his mum before she died he was going to run a marathon for her. It was like a penny dropped for my next challenge and what better way than to help my dearest friends son achieve his goal. Together with Jake's younger brother Morgan, the three of us have just had our places confirmed for the London Marathon 2021.

Its been many years since I donned my running shoes. By the time we step up to the starting line both Jake and I will have just celebrated milestone birthdays of 50 and 30 (guess which one I am!) so I certainly will need all the love and support of my dear family and friends.

So please, once again, dig deep and spare what you can. Think of us as we start our training, running in all weathers, late nights and early mornings to get ready for one of the biggest and most prestigious marathons, the London.

We are all passionate to raise as much money and awareness for Cancer Research UK and together we can, and WILL make a difference.

Thank you,

Rachel x
