Shine Night Walk Southampton 10k 2026
My Story
This October, I will be taking part again in the Shine Night Walk in support of Cancer Research UK. This year’s walk is especially important to me. It has been a year since my grandad sadly passed away after his battle with cancer and earlier this year, my stepdad was also diagnosed with cancer and is now preparing to begin treatment in July. Like so many families, cancer has touched our lives in more ways than we would ever have wished. I am taking part in this walk in memory of my grandad, in support of my stepdad, and for everyone else who is currently facing a cancer diagnosis or has lost a loved one to this disease. Cancer Research UK’s work helps to fund life-saving research, improve treatments, and provide hope for countless families. While I know times are difficult for many people, any donation, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated and will help support the incredible work they do. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and generosity. It truly means a lot. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work. Donate to my Giving Page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

CAUSE
Diagnosing cancer earlier
Detecting cancer at an early stage helps save lives. That’s why we’re pioneering new ways to diagnose cancer earlier and stop it in its tracks. But we need to go further, faster. With your support, we can change the outlook on cancer, catching it when it’s most treatable so more people survive.
