We are taking part in Shine Night Walk to remember two extremely special ladies who were the centre of our lives and who both lost their lives to cancer within 8 weeks of one another.
In memory of
My mum (Linda) and my aunty (Susan) - sisters.
My Story
My lovely Mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer in Nov 2021 and, like a flash, we sadly lost her on 21 Feb 2022. Our dear aunty, Mum's sister, lost her longer battle with oesophageal cancer on Christmas Eve 2021. As a family our world has been well and truly rocked by this brutal and oh so aggressive disease. At times like this you realise how important family is and also what a great support you can be for one another. Therefore on 24 Sep I will be walking the half marathon route with my sis and my three cousins to support this great cause, hopefully raising some decent funds along the way and most importantly spending some time together remembering our amazing mums. One in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work. Donate to my Giving Page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

CAUSE
Bowel cancer
Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer and half of people diagnosed will now survive for at least 10 years. But with bowel cancer still claiming around 43 lives each day, more research still needs to be done. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
