Still want to donate?
Hi there! Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page. Most of you will be friends and family who will know me well but some of you may have seen me on Beat the Chasers last night (30/4)! I'm going to kick start my fund-raising by putting £500 in the pot. Any donations that you are able to and kind enough to add most gratefully received! So why am I doing this now? 2 reasons really... 1. Cancer is such a terrible disease and unfortunately most of us are likely whether directly or indirectly to be touched by it in our lifetimes at some point. In 2011, I lost my amazing sister Lynda to brain cancer and in the same year my equally amazing brother Steve had to battle through a stem cell transplant and defeat non-Hodgkins lymphoma. In 2016, I lost my good friend John Witte to lung cancer and my Uncle Colin to cancer of the aesophagus. At this time when charities are suffering due to the lockdown wanted to do something and the win on the Chasers kickstarted me! 2. Have got a big birthday (50 ssshhhh!!) coming up in Jan '21. I decided at the end of last year to try to lose 50lbs before turning 50 - '50 to 50' so to speak! Had done 31lbs when lockdown kicked in and the struggle really started! If I know I have to keep going for a good cause will motivate me! So, you see, am my usual seflish self! Have said I will add another £500 to the pot when I reach my target in Jan and the idea is I would like everyone to contribute whatever amount they want NOW and the same amount in Jan if I reach my target. I can't let the charity down so I'll need to do it! On a seriious note, the money I raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. PLEASE help if you can!
