My Story
In memory of Uncle Derek My Uncle Derek (Read) tragically lost his life to cancer earlier this year. It was devastating and completely heartbreaking for family, friends and anyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. Derek was taken from this world far too soon and too quickly. We will all miss his sense of humour, his long story telling, his smile, his love of sweets...(you still owe me a bag of jelly babies Uncle Derek!) In memory of Uncle Derek, I have decided to run my very first half marathon. I run regularly but never much further than 10k and so this will be a real challenge! I will be needing lots of those jelly babies! My training started 25th July and I have linked my strava to this page so my progress can be tracked! Race day is Sunday 9th October - Manchester Half Marathon - wish me luck! Your support in helping me to raise money for Cancer Research, in honour of such a great man is immensely appreciated.
