My Story
The Women’s Cancer Challenge is the biggest sporting participation event in the Western Isles. Every individual who runs, jogs or walks is part of it. The participants in the Women’s Cancer Challenge have raised over £130,000 for the Lewis branch of Cancer Research UK. It is really important to emphasise you can walk, run, jog, walk/run - any method is acceptable as long as you don't use mechanical means! Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
