My Story
In June this year myself and a few of my family members will be taking part in the race for life to raise money for cancer research. My grandad was diagnosed with ampullary cancer in November 2023 and sadly passed away on my 21st birthday. Ampullary adenocarcinoma is a very rare but aggressive form of cancer, that is more likely in males aged over 70. Before he was diagnosed none of us had ever heard of this form of cancer before but it completely changed our lives. Many people are suffering with it, but it goes unnoticed because of how rare it actually is. My grandad was the bravest person you'd ever meet and despite all his suffering he'd do anything to see us all happy. I'd like to thank anyone in advance for any donations made, because it all makes a difference. This run is for everyone currently suffering with cancer, for the new people being diagnosed each day and for the many people we have lost to this terrible illness. To my beautiful grandad, I hope you're at peace now this run is for you.
