My Story
Last year my husband, Richard, found out that he had prostate cancer. It was a big shock to us as he wasn't showing any symptoms and it was only picked up by a routine blood test. He's had radiotherapy and is currently on hormone treatment; we're hopeful that it was caught in time. Thanks to life-saving research into cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment by Cancer Research UK (and other organisations), more people are surviving their cancer today than ever before.Despite the great advances, too many people are still dying from cancer. Far too many people I know have been diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, the prognosis for some of them is not as good as for Richard.Henry (my son) and I are going to be running Manchester Marathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK.Please give as much as you can. Let's make cancer a thing of the past.
