My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This August, I’m jogging 31 miles in the month to help beat cancer. 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. In 2020 my dad was diagnosed with cancer - thankfully he is currently cancer-free. But one of my students, who I’ve had the privilege of knowing since she was 11, was also diagnosed with cancer in the same year, and unlike my dad her story isn’t as positive. No one should have to watch someone they love suffer, so running 1 mile a day seems like the least I can do to help.

CAUSE

Sarcoma

Sarcomas are cancers that develop from any of the supporting tissues in the body, such as muscle or fat. That means they can develop and grow almost anywhere. Each year around 3,300 people are diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma in the UK – that’s around 9 cases diagnosed every day. Donations can help Cancer Research UK find out what causes them and develop better, kinder treatments to improve the outlook for patients.
