My Story
On 27th July I will be competing in the London Triathlon to raise money for Cancer Research. For those of you who know me well this will be laughable. I haven't competed in anything since Borough Sports Day (age 10). But this is not just a physical challenge that may or may not see me drowning in the Thames, I will be raising money to help fund a cause that is not only incredibly close to me and my family but to everyone. Over the years, I've seen cancer take the lives of friends and their families far too early. In 2018, we lost my aunty, Traci Dixon to Breast Cancer. In her positive, get go, fucking hard-working spirit I wanted to do something that will be a difficult challenge for me but will hopefully help take a step towards finding a cure for this devastating disease. I would like to ask you for any support within your means, be it 50p or even fundraising tips. My minimum target is £500 but I would of course love to raise as much as possible. Here are some stats that may put things in to perspective: - There are around 164,000 cancer deaths in the UK every year, that's around 450 every day (2014-2016). - Cancer accounts for more than a quarter (28%) of all deaths in the UK (2016). - Every four minutes someone in the UK dies from cancer. Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Lots of love, Phoebe xxx
