My Story
I think at some point, we're all ( unfortunately ) touched by this dreadful disease. My Dad suffered from it ( throat Cancer - losing his voice box along the way... ), someone I only met once through his music ( busking in Birmingham City Centre ! ) but followed on Instagram - Pete Felton, he lost a long battle & his wife lost her husband too soon after being married for such a short time... Now, it raises it's ugly head again. One of Bev's friends / work colleagues has been diagnosed with the disease. Her treatment is so complex it's almost unthinkable & she will have to be so strong in going through this stage of her life - but determined she is & with the help at hand, I hope she wins her battle. I thought I should do a little something to help CR in their fight to cure this disease - as they say, every penny counts ! So if you fancy sponsoring this "old fart" on my trek to clock up the miles during this September, then it would be most gratefully appreciated. Give what you can - it all helps & it'll motivate me to keep the pedals turning or the treadmill rolling !! I'll put the daily distances ( from either my map tracker for cycling, or distance completed from the treadmill monitor ) up on my Facebook page, so you'll see the progress. Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 200 page. This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 200 miles either via my treadmill or on my bike for Cancer Research UK. I will be pedalling harder than ever because I want to raise money for life-saving research and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Every penny makes a huge difference to vital cancer research so please show your support with a donation to my page. Cheers, Phil.
