This year I will be aiming to complete not just one, but two challenges to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. At the grand old age of 40 I have decided to try a bit of running and will be taking part in the Guildford 5k race for life on 28th July. Not the furthest distance I have covered for charity, but the first attempt at running a decent time! Then, to round off this years efforts I will be aiming to walk the North Downs ultra 50k challenge, further than I have attempted before and probably my toughest course yet. Myself, my family and my friends are seeing people struggle and losing people to cancer every day. This is why I am doing this, to try and help raise money for cancer research to try and find a cure before we have to lose more people we love. There’s no time to lose! Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
