My Story
On 6th September 2024, a group of colleagues from Peterborough city Council and Good Running Events will be taking part in the public sector challenge, alongside over 500 other public sector workers or partner organisations. The challenge will see us take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks! It’s is 24-miles round trip route, and takes on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), hopefully in under 12 hours. We’re looking to use the event to network with others across the sector, be active and more importantly raise money and awareness for such a worthy cause- cancer research. Cancer affects so many of us, indirectly, directly, physically and emotionally. Research has advanced how we prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. It’s supported increasing the survival rate over the years helping families continue to create special memories that otherwise may have been lost too soon. 🫶🏻 We’re looking forward to contributing as much as possible and will be sharing some of our training end events in the run up to the challenge- watch this space 😃

CAUSE
Preventing cancers
We’re finding ways to stop cancer before it’s even made its first move. With your support, we can prevent more cancers so that fewer people hear the devastating news that they, or their loved ones, have the disease.
