He was immensely brave and never once complained but I will never ever forget the sight of his tears as we had to take him back to hospital for what turned out to be the last time. If what I raise with this run can possibly make a difference to someone else's life and stop this happening then I will do my very best. I also run in memory of my friends - Ray (my friend and fixer), Janis (my coffee buddie), Michael (Smiler) and Chrisse. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
