My Story
I am taking part in this 10K event to raise money for Cancer research for my dad. At the end of last year my dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer, something that took us all by surprise. The shock of being told that your loved one has Cancer was like staring down the barrel of a gun. You know it is going to go off, but you don't know how much damage it will do or whether they would survive. My dad has been so supportive of everything I have done, has always been there for me no matter what. The thought of loosing him was overwhelming and the feeling of helplessnes was even worse. I have watched my dad go through his tests, treatments and operation and have his life turned upside down coping with the realism of his condition and consequences of life after the operation. Something he is still doing. So the endless days of feeling helpless and wanting to be able to do something to help has lead me to taking part in this event. For the first time I feel that I can do something to help him and everyone else that is affected by Cancer. For anyone that knows me well, running is something I don't find easy and don't particularly enjoy. So to run 10K is going to be a challenge for me!! Please help me to support such a wonderful cause by donating, to this amazing charity. Without them and the most incredible NHS staff I know that my dad would have been facing a different story. Anything you can spare to donate, no matter how small will be gratefully received. Thank you to those that have already donated x Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
