My Story
Mum was diagnosed with lung cancer on Mother's Day 2021. It was a total shock, and worse still was the news that it wouldn't be treated due to the extensive spread. However, she is still with us today, and in June, Mum & Dad celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary, a day we hadn't dared hope for, along with the family and their lovely Carers. I wanted the challenge of running a Half Marathon (for reasons that I can't recall at this stage!), and what better way to mark this momentous achievement than by raising whatever I can for Cancer Research UK. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
