My Story

This year is the 10th anniversary of The Longest Day Challenge, when a group of motorcyclists ride from Land’s End to John O'Groats in a maximum of 24hrs to raise money for Cancer Research UK. So on 21st of June myself and a select few riders will be attempting to do this but it has a twist! We aren't allowed to use motorways and the bike must cost no more than £600! A 1000 miles in 2 days on a modern touring bike using motorways would be hard enough, but over a 1000 miles on a worn out old Honda costing less than 600 quid with no motorways allowed in under 24 hours is almost madness! Anyway I’ve almost(I paid £599) blown my budget on a 35-year old Honda CBR1000F that’s held together mainly with gaffer tape and cable ties! They were a great bike in the day but that was a long time and many many miles ago and the only thing this crappy old bike has going for it now is that the seat has been recovered !! Anyway. it's all for a great cause. I'm sure that every one of you reading this will have been affected by cancer in some way - either friends or family or maybe even yourself. This journey I am taking will help raise funds for cancer research, so please support me - all donations go towards helping beat this awful disease. Every penny counts so if you can't afford much that's absolutely fine but if everyone who knows me was to donate just £1 it would make such a difference towards battling this disease. We will also be getting trackers fitted at the beginning of the ride so you can all follow my progress on the day! It will be completely self funded by myself and every penny received will be going 100% to the charity.
