My Story
In 2021 I wanted to raise money for Cancer Research in the memory of a colleague and friend who had sadly lost her battle with Cancer. After raising over £5,000 as a team I set out to match this personally and so ran 11 marathons in 11 days, raising over £5,000. After a 2021 total exceeding £11,000, I am back in 2022, because Cancer is happening right now, and there is much more we can do, which is why I’m raising money for Cancer Research UK. Of course I am taking on the usual challenges of London Marathon, and I will be seeing if I can get my first sub 3 marathon, and will consider fancy dress for London (suggestions on a post card - with donation please). First of all I have Boston Marathon, after claiming my first Boston Qualification in 2021, but then I am going long. To raise money for 2022 I want to push myself further, with more firsts, and on 7th May 2022 I will be running 100 miles non stop, for the first time. This is not going to be easy, I have ran 63 miles before, and this was one of the hardest things I have ever done, those last miles were so painful. This will require me to run through the night, not stopping until i have completed 100 miles... But there is an added challenge. Can I run 100 miles in a day? My aim will be to finish 100 miles in 24 hours. So please help me to raise as much money as possible. I raised over £5,000 for running marathons on consecutive days, so I think £5,000 is a reasonable target for running 100 miles in a single day. That is almost 4 marathons in one day.
