My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. I suffered with an myxopapillary ependymoma in January 2016. This is where a tumour grows in the spinal cord and affects only 2-4% at most. I have seen cancer surround my life with losing my grandad and my nan with other family suffered on both sides being affected Having witnessed the affects of everyday people at the Christie centre in Manchester and those at St Luke's over the years, I would love to do something daring. My mum was also a nurse including in the community and in MacMillan for many years before she retired. The effects of end of life palliative care with many cancer patients really was inspiring for this too. I've always struggled with running, but having found my knack for the gym again, I want to do something good. There is no better place for me to run a 5k than at a place. Aintree racecourse. Thank you for taking the time out and any questions please don't hesitate to ask or look into cancer research further as any funding really does make a difference!
