My Story
Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 200 page. This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 200 miles on my bike for Cancer Research UK. I will be pedalling harder than ever because I want to raise money for life-saving research I personally live with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and I receive excellent care and support from Macmillan cancer research and my “Guardian Angel”. Some people diagnosed the same time as myself didn’t survive, why did I get the lifeline when others didn’t, everybody deserves the best possible treatment available and the hope of life changing drugs being developed daily. When I was a child and you heard adults say the word “cancer” it was terrifying, you knew that whichever aunt, uncle or friend the adults were talking about was going to die, that’s the connection we had with the word cancer, it was devastating, life ending news, but now in just a few decades cancer research has developed life changing care and drugs that have increased survival rates DRAMATICALLY, all of us, our family, our friends, our work colleagues now benefit from the previous decades of research. Charitable people before me have raised funds and I currently benefit from those kind gestures, I want to be able to raise funds and help current and future cancer sufferers, and help “beat the beast”, what ever amount you give is really appreciated, and all the “small amounts together will bring big benefits”. Every penny makes a huge difference to vital cancer research so please show your support with a donation to my page.
