This run is in memory of my Brother Jean-Marc BENSON Also Known As JB Pancreatic Cancer took his life 30/01/2016, he was 59... After years of a stressful and chaotic life in the Music industry he finally decided to leave the fast life In London and take early retirement in Bali. Life couldn't be better for him, he was relaxed, he had beautiful weather, reunited with old friends and best of all, he was back in the studio recording...Paradise for him, as he told me once. Around June we spoke on Skype as usual and he was doubled up with stomach pain in bed.He said he was taking medication. the pains lessened but there was a relapse not long after, the doctors told him he had some kind of stomach infection. Gave him pain killers and sent him home. No mir's, echographs, no real physical examination. By August the pain was too intense and he finally booked to see a specialist in Singapore. He flew from Bali to Singapore & was sent for a CT Scan immediately upon his arrival. One hour later he was in the Doctors office for the results.. The doctor he later told me was extremely blunt: "you have stage four Pancreatic cancer and it has metastasized; You have three to six months to live". He went straight to the airport , an 18 hour wait for a plane to London.He was alone, in shock...the beginning of the end. Maybe had there been more Cancer research those doctors in Bali could have diagnosed him correctly and earlier, or sent him for tests. My run is also dedicated to my daughter's courage. Just after turning 30 she was diagnosed with Cervical cancer.. She was given a Radical Hysterectomy in an eight hour operation. She Never bitched, never complained just carried on with her life. I salute her Bravery. Cancer does not discriminate between race, color, religion, age, gender it doesn't even discriminate between Humans and Animals!!!!
