My Story

Thank you for visiting our “team” page in memory of our brother and son, Stuart. Mum and I have always been passionate about raising money for Cancer Research so that other families can be spared the pain of a loved one battling Cancer. The global pandemic has meant many events were postponed and we are so pleased to be able to take part in this year’s Brighton 10k Shine Walk. Stuart is the bravest person we will ever know. He fought off multiple myeloma time and time again over a 4 year period and tried and tested practically every cancer treatment out there from chemotherapy via radiotherapy, immunotherapy, stem cell transfer (own cells), stem cell transfer (sibling cells) to CAR-T therapy. This was sadly one fight he could not win, and yet he continued to fight. Whilst brutal in their side effects, Stuart never complained and was eternally grateful for every extra day these therapies gave him. On 1st November 2020, Stuart was finally able to stop fighting and passed away in his sleep. Throughout his life he always put others first be it at home with his family and friends or via his work in the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy. Stuart was also a passionate advocate for making new treatments available to other young people and families battling Cancer and would be raising money here himself, if he could. For this reason Mum and I have chosen to take part in a Cancer Research event and hope to raise a few bob to help this cause in the process. Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit of our story, and for donating in memory of our amazingly brave and courageous brother and son.
