My Story

I'm taking part with my Mum, Jackie, her friend Sarah Woods, and her daughter Kaylee who is a best friend of mine. Mum and I are primarily taking part in memory of Mum's late partner, Andrew Flecknell, who died a day after receiving his diagnosis of cancer in 2018 aged 47. Andrew was a Charge Nurse at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital and was incredibly dedicated to his job in Elderly Care. I am also taking part in memory of my Granddad, Brian Gale, who died a year after Andrew with dementia and cancer, aged 76. Sarah and Kaylee are taking part in memory of two very special people. Sarah's late Father-in-Law Bryan Woods, who sadly lost his battle with cancer in July 2011 and her best friend Sarah's mum, Anne Kings who passed away from non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in January 2018. We will be incredibly grateful for, and encouraged by, any donation, no matter how small. We know that, sadly, we can’t bring back our loved ones, but we want to honour their memories and be part of research into crushing cancer and saving lives in the future. Every penny we raise will go towards this vital work. That’s our collective wish. Thank you in advance from The Wishful Walkers Olivia, Kaylee, Jackie and Sarah XXXX
