My Story
To fulfil a burning ambition with a bit of madness thrown into the mix, I will be running the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 12th September 2021 on behalf of my Dad who passed away from Prostate Cancer after a 9-year battle. Even though Dad’s Cancer was terminal, with help from charities like Cancer Research UK, it meant that his life was easier to cope with and it was prolonged to spend more time with us. We will be forever grateful for that. Apart from being a fantastic Dad, Husband & Grandad, he was simply a great guy, and although he is sorely missed by all his friends and family, we all have our wonderful memories of our time with him. Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years, and consistent progress is being made to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates. Improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities but need funding. You can help Cancer Research UK improve results even faster.
