My Story
Some of you may know that 2019 was pretty rough for me and my family… It was January of that year when I was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer, which in itself was the hardest and most scariest thing to have to comprehend - but I was also 4 months pregnant with our baby girl. My partner, my son and of course my bump made me the strongest I could be during my battle with the Big C and thankfully in May my daughter was born healthy and I have come out the other side too. After 10 long months with surgery, multiple sessions of chemotherapy and radiotherapy (and giving birth) I am just honestly so grateful to be here. I owe so much to my family, friends, the hospital staff and of course Cancer Research - what they do is amazing and will touch so many lifes. I will be forever in their debt. This is why I wanted to run the race for life, to raise money to support such an amazing cause. I know for some it’s not always a positive ending, so the more money we raise the more it can help. Most people will have friends and family members that Cancer has touched; I’m also running this race for my family, some who are still fighting with great strength and some whose stories sadly had a different outcome. We love and miss you all so much – This run is in your memory too ❤ 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
