Cancer is something that touches all of our lives in some way. It did mine, and my family, when I was just 15. Yet, here I am 26 years later having experienced many wonderful things in life and now "training" (I use that word loosely) for a 10k! And that hasn't been without the occasional bump in the road along the way.
When I think about how much cancer treatment has progressed over the years, it makes me appreciate the value of these fundraising events even more. So, I decided to do this run. I am not a runner, can't say I really enjoy running, and I certainly don't find it easy. I'm tired and hurt most of the time, but how lucky am I to be here and doing this?! And this is why I chose to run this 10k - to push myself for this truly worthwhile cause. So please support me in my running adventure :-)
