My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Over the last two years my family has had a challenging time due to cancer. I have lost both my grandparents and almost a year ago I was diagnosed with incurable and aggressive breast cancer. I was just 38 and my daughter was 3. A year on I have been through a round of chemotherapy and continue to receive medication every three weeks to keep my cancer under control. Just a few years ago my life expectancy would have been on average two years. Thanks to Cancer Research and other investments a new drug has become available which should give me few years with my family. I continue in the hope that new drugs and treatments will become available over the next few years, but it’s difficult to contemplate not seeing your child grow up. I have decided this March to get over my natural inclination and tell my story in the hope of raising a few pounds to continue this amazing and life saving work. I would love to know my daughter doesn’t have to worry about cancer as she grows up, and that no one else has to go through my experience. So, I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month of March to raise much needed funding for cancer research. If you are able to sponsor me, thank you, and if you would like to join me in walking I would love the company! Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
