I’ve recently found out that a close friend has been given only a few months to live, so I’ve decided it’s time for me to raise some money to help fight this devastating disease. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money for Cancer Research UK. People who know me will know that I am not a great runner so this won’t be easy for me. But the effort I’ll be putting into this run will be nothing compared to what my friend and her family are going through. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime - a figure which is simply too high.
