My Story
Nicole’s story: I grew up knowing the heartache that cancer brings to families. I never got to know my Grandfather Barry. He died from leukemia when my mum and aunt were still young children. Since then I’ve seen cancer affecting the young and old alike. I’ve had school friends, university friends, colleagues, family members and friends' parents all die from various types of cancer. Others I know have survived but have to live with the changes it’s caused and the scary uncertainty of not knowing if it will return. Every bit of research helps to make life easier for those living with cancer. I’ll be getting in a wheelchair to push 13.1 miles through the Royal Parks on 13th October 2019, with my friend Mike running alongside me and also joining a team of runners from Chigwell School to support this great cause. Please donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers have a cure. Mike's Story: For me it is for Clare Fidler, who died at the age of 40 from breast cancer with many dreams still left unfulfilled. I knew her for about nine years, until her life was cruelly cut short. There are too many other people I have known who died from cancer, and thankfully many who have survived. I have of course been inspired to accompany Nicole, as she completes over 13 miles in a wheel chair.
