My Story
At the beginning of this year a friend and I embarked on a 'Couch to 5k' training journey, having agreed we needed to get fitter and healthier but also that we were not natural runners so needed a little support. We've plodded round the park twice a week since January, and are feeling more than a little proud of ourselves for sticking with it. I've signed up for this race to mark what, for me, has been quite an achievement (although I know 5k isn't much for most people). And wanted to do it for CRUK because cancer could affect any of us at any time. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. I want to do everything I can to support a cancer-free future. I know this isn't a marathon. It's not a sky-dive, or a cycle around the world. But it's a challenge for me (not least because it's the day after my birthday so I expect I may not be in peak physical shape.... ). So I hope you can support me and this excellent cause.
