My Story
Hearing the words that someone has cancer is heartbreaking, scary and frightening. But to be told that it’s about someone you know and love so much makes it even harder to come to terms with. I had to understand this some years ago, when Cancer struck the person whom I love with my whole heart. They had to go through chemotherapy, radiotherapy and the emotions of how to cope through such a difficult time. But the ongoing research that has been put into curing and preventing Cancer means that the person I love is still here. My world would never be the same without them. I Race for Life for them. To be able to do my part in contributing to the future of stopping Cancer once and for all. But I also Race for Life for everyone else whom has had Cancer - whether they are a fighter, a survivor, and also in memory to all those who sadly lost their battle to Cancer. My story is different to yours, as no story is ever the same when it comes to Cancer. But the one story that can be the same is our determination to stop Cancer altogether; through helping to fund the research needed to save lives and prevent more from being at risk.
