My Story
My dad was taken too soon and suddenly from a rare type of lung cancer called Mesothelioma. My dad was one of the kindest men around who would care for anyone he knew. Even when he was ill he didn’t even think about himself, he just wanted to look after us as a family. When my dad got diagnosed with this rare cancer we didn’t have long left to spend with him. His life expectancy went from a few months down to days and then down to hours within a few weeks of being diagnosed, he deteriorated rapidly until 16th October 2017 8:10pm I watched him take his last breath. This was the most devastating and heartbreaking thing to see especially with it being a parent and all because of this stupid disease that we all don’t really know anything about! I am trying to raise money for Cancer research in the hope that one day there will be a cure for this horrendous disease which has taken so many of people’s lives! It will nearly be a year since my dad has passed away, not a day/moment goes by where I don’t think of him. I think about my dad every single day and I will do for the rest of my life! I would do anything for him to be here with me now, just for him to give me a big hug and tell me everything is ok, which is why I want to participate in the Race for life Pretty muddy race to raise funds and mark the ‘nearly a year’ occasion. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Thank you for spending time to read this post. Xx
