My Story
Thank you for visiting our Fundraising Page. The money we raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Nicky and I are walking the Pennine way in memory of my mum Cecily Leggett. It was something she would often speak to me about and had hoped that I would walk it with her. Sadly mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and after several years of poor health,she lost her battle and passed away aged 48. The illness unfortunately made the dream of walking the Pennine way impossible. Now many years later we hope to complete the walk my mum was unable to do. In 2022 we completed the first 100 miles over 6 days walking from Edale in Derbyshire to Horton in Ribblesdale in the Yorkshire dales. This year we aim to complete the walk starting from where we finished in 2022. Walking from the Yorkshire dales to Scotland; another 168 miles! Although my mum couldn’t do the walk herself,her memory will be with us all the way. Chris and Nicky
