2019 Simplyhealth Great North Run

Sun 8 Sep 2019 - Sun 8 Sep 2019

I’m raising as much as I can to help beat cancer.

My Story

This is a cause very close to my heart, having lost our lovely Dad, Bob, to this awful disease in 1979 when he was only 36. In his memory, and that of other very dear family and friends lost to cancer, I've decided to run my first half marathon to try to raise money for Cancer Research UK, and will attempt to complete the Great North Run on 8 September 2019. Advancements in treatments now available have also enabled others close to me to beat cancer and carry on with a normal life. This would not be possible without the incredible work of organisations like Cancer Research UK. Please donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

CAUSE

All Cancer Types

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Help Cancer Research UK improve results even faster.
