My Story
This year I am taking part in Big Hike to help power progress for people affected by cancer. I remember a time when the statistics suggested that 1 in 5 of us would be affected by cancer in our lifetime. Today, the statistics suggest that number to be 1 in 2. We will all know someone. A person we love and care about. My lovely Mum, my best friend’s husband and three of my friends touched by cancer in the last year. I am taking part in the Big Hike 2025 with a group of ‘Xceptional Ladies’, led and inspired by our lovely friend Carla, who is currently fighting her own battle. We’re fighting it together. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
