My Story
I am doing this 100ft abseil to challenge myself. I have family that have battled Cancer some have won and others fought till the end. I will be thinking of them all on my way down 😀 This state-of-the-art building in central London - which houses 1500 scientists and support staff working collaboratively across disciplines, making it the biggest biomedical research facility under a single roof in Europe. Your participation can help us to raise much needed funds for the innovative research happening inside the building. Situated in the heart of London, the Francis Crick Institute is a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary medical research institute. The Crick is a collaboration between six of the world’s leading medical research organisations, including Cancer Research UK, and brings together over 1,250 scientists from around the world. On the Day: Participants will get to enjoy the views of the capital from the top of the Francis Crick Institute, before 'going over the top': a chance to enjoy London's skyline while suspended in mid-air. Fully trained and experienced instructors will be kitting you up and guiding you every step of the way (up the building and back down). All you have to do is keep your calm and soak up the views. Be sure to bring your friends and family to along to take pictures and cheer you on. Once you reach the bottom you’ll be able to breathe a sigh of relief, collect your photos and enjoy a post event glass of bubbly to celebrate your achievement. We strongly encourage each participant to raise a minimum of £150 to fund our ground breaking research and prizes will be given for the highest fundraisers. Unfortunately we are unable to accept registrations for under 18s for this event.
